Highlights of the Fall Educational Meeting

On Saturday October 23 The Association of Orthopaedic Technologists California (AOTC) held an Educational meeting sponsored by De Puy OrthoTech and hosted by Kaiser Permanente in Harbour City . Special thanks to Jan Cohen and Tammy Rafferty of DePuy OrthoTech and fellow Ortho. Tech. Danny Corpuz of Kaiser Permanente for having Kaiser Permanente open their friendly doors to host our meeting.
This was a free educational meeting and was good for 7.5 ceu's. A continental breakfast was hosted by the AOTC and DePuy OrthoTech. Lunch was hosted by DePuy OrthoTech. The meeting covered the latest in A.C.L. techniques presented by Dr.Navarro of Kaiser Permanente followed by Mike Wang of Team Surgical. Further presentations covered Physical Therapy, Orthopaedic Pharmacology and Knee Bracing. The meeting was concluded with a presentation on cast application and care and was followed by a casting and splinting workshop. Throughout the meeting there was a raffle for prizes and the AOTC would like to thank DePuy OrthoTech and Royce Medical for the great prizes they donated for our raffle.
During the break and lunch time the attendees visited with the vendors. This was an excellent opportunity to look over the latest Orthopaedic products and network with fellow colleagues. The AOTC would like to thank Royce Medical , NovaCare , Smith & Nephew , Team Surgical , DJ Ortho , MediTech , Professional Products,Inc. and of course the sponsor of the meeting DePuy OrthoTech. With their participation in the meeting along with the AOTC helped make the meeting a huge success. Thanks again!

Look for more Educational Opportunities from The AOTC in the future!

In the picture to the left there are two  student Ortho. Techs who were participating in the casting and splinting workshop .The finishing touches are being applied to a short arm cast here. There were a considerable number of casts put on and removed during this highly popular event!
In the picture to the right Michael Wang from Team Surgical is giving his lecture on special A.C.L. applications and procedures. All the lectures were really great and the AOTC would like to say Thank You again to all who presented lectures on their field of Orthopaedic Expertise

The day proved to be very educational indeed!!
