The meeting kicked off with
the Continental Breakfast, Krispy Kreams, Bagels, Muffins, Orange Juice, and coffee, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and was
followed by A.O.T.C. President, Jack Hart giving the opening remarks. Dr. Sitler
was the first lecturer up and delivered a great talk on "Foot and Ankle
Problems". He was followed by Dr. McBride giving his informative lecture on
"Mini Incision - TKA". Dr. Jankiewicz followed giving his interesting
lecture on "2 Incision THA". There was a break so that all the attendees could
go and talk with the vendors and see their exhibits and take a break to refill
those coffee cups. After the break Rick Waterman, OTC, gave a
great talk and demonstration on "Custom Splinting - Focused Rigidity Casting"
(F.R.C.). Jack Hart,
OTC, stepped up and gave a lecture on "Casting, The Tips, Tricks &
Techniques" with lots of pictures". Lunch was served at noon and consisted of
submarine sandwiches, soft drinks, and a desert. After lunch was the
Immobilization Workshop. Jack Hart, OTC, got the workshop rolling with a short
talk on casting and demonstrations of several specialty casts. The attendees
broke up into groups and practiced their casting skills and techniques.
The
A.O.T.C. would like to express its deep appreciation to Royce Medical who
supplied all of the food and casting materials, Sharps for the generous donation
of the use of their spectacular facility, all the speakers who generously
donated their time to come in and speak, Jack Hart,OTC, Michael Johnson, OTC,
and Danny Corpuz, OT, for donating their time and energy to pull it all together
to make our meeting the OUTSTANDING SUCCESS that it was. Attendees, pat
yourselves on the back for attending the meeting and upgrading your skills and
networking with your peers. Thank-you one and all.
