Highlights of the meeting

  On October 25, 2003 the A.O.T.C. held its annual Spring Educational meeting at the Sharp Rees Stealy facility in San Diego. Once again, the AOTC would like to thank Jack Hart, OT-C, President / A.O.T.C., and Danny Corpuz, OT-C, Education Committee Chairman, for planning and coordinating our educational meeting, with special thanks to Mike Johnson, OTC, Treasurer / A.O.T.C., Elaine Melcher / OTC, and Sheila Varner / OTC for their assistance and support for this meeting,  as well as Sharp Rees Stealy for opening their doors once again to host our meeting.
   After the Continental Breakfast, the meeting kicked off with the "Opening Remarks" from Jack Hart, President / A.O.T.C..   Dr. Mohler gave an informative lecture on "Orthopaedic Injuries". Dr. Mohler's lecture was followed by Dr. Jones giving his presentation on "Foot Problems".  At 9:45 a.m. was the morning break for networking with fellow colleagues and to visit the vendors to see what the latest Orthopedic products looked like and how they were improved. After the morning break Dr. Huott gave a fascinating talk about "Neurologic Disorders". At 11:00 a.m. Tom Byrne, OTC, OPA-C stepped up to the podium and gave an in-depth  lecture on "Cast Room Safety", lots of tips! Lunch was served after Tom's lecture. At 1:00 p.m.  Jack Hart, OTC gave a great lecture on "Alternative Techniques for Diabetic Foot Casting", with lots of great pictures as well as the tips and tricks we all come to the meetings for. At 1:45 the casting and splinting workshop kicked off and everyone got busy.
  Our doors are always open to everyone who wants to improve their skills and knowledge in the field of Orthopaedic Technology.

Everyone signs in and heads for the continental breakfast. The smell of fresh brewed coffee was in the air.
