Highlights of the meeting

The Association of Orthopaedic Technologists California (AOTC) held there annual fall educational meeting on October 28, 2000 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Harbor City, California. The meeting was sensational and offered excellent speakers, 7 ceu's, and fun prizes. There were 71 attendee's for the meeting, we had members come from as far away as Sacramento, CA to attend our meeting (thanks George for coming down and bringing your colleague). Danny Corpuz of Kaiser Permanente was instrumental in obtaining our meeting site and coordinating the meeting. The AOTC would like to thank Danny as well as Kaiser Permanente for continuing to open their friendly doors for our educational meetings.

The speakers for our meeting were Jack Hart, OTC, Dr. Harry Harbison, Dr. Horowitz, and Mike McClaflin of Exogen. The topics covered different phases of orthopaedic care and interventions. The AOTC would like to thank these speakers for making their presentations at our meeting. We would also like to thank the vendors that displayed their products in our vendor hall, they were Mike McClaflin and Michelle Rizzo of Exogen, Thomas Nomura of Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics, Linda Simmons-Goldstein of 3M, William Marks of DeRoyal, Derek Schultz of dj ortho, Jan Cohen of DePuy OrthoTech, and a special thanks to Jennifer Angeloff of Royce Medical Products for sponsoring our meeting. All these great representatives from their companies donated fun prizes for our raffle.

The afternoon session was a casting workshop with the latest product from Royce Medical Products. Jennifer Angeloff of Royce Medical Products presented their new casting tape "Techform". Everyone had a chance to roll the new tape.
